Getting power in Saskatchewan

Open and courting, but riding on coal-refurbishment and nuclear plans that are not yet built.

The full Saskatchewan record, with the route to power, the binding constraint and every dated policy event.

Sources

The best-evidenced construction status in this dataset. The federal Impact Assessment Agency of Canada record states the project could not be designated for review because the physical activity had substantially begun, corroborated by CTV’s groundbreaking report and Bird Construction’s selection as contractor. The 300 MW figure matches the IAAC record. Phase 1 targets 200 MW of transmission by the end of 2026, Phase 2 a further 100 MW by the end of 2027.
