Construction

Meta broke ground in July 2026 on a $13B+, 1 GW campus, its first data centre in Canada. AESO has 970 MW on file for it, 60 MW from May 2027 and the rest from September 2030, one of two projects given grid capacity in Phase 1. Capital Power supplies 250 MW from the second half of 2028, and the 932 MW Greenlight gas plant next door is due in the second half of 2030.
