Courting load loudly while the near-term connection queue is already spoken for.

Sources

Kevin O’Leary-backed; up to 58 buildings, $70B lifetime investment, 2,000-acre site. The proposed status and 1.4 GW Phase 1 figure both appear in the Alberta Major Projects registry. Sited near Grande Prairie within the Greenview Industrial Gateway. The schedule has slipped and the project has not advanced. As of February 2026 a Greenview municipal source described it as only at the proposal stage, with land finalisation, regulatory approvals and construction timelines still under development, and a second Wonder Valley of similar size, 7.5 GW, had been announced in Utah. Reporting in May 2026 put construction start at 2028, with permits still pending. The land purchase is not finalized and no AUC or AEPA permits have been filed.
